3 Easy, Energy-Packed Breakfast Foods for Back to School

The most important meal of the day is breakfast, especially before a long day of school! And because mornings can be hectic, you need something you can make in a time crunch. Try out these three easy, energy-packed breakfast foods – full of honey – to help give your kids the kickstart they need for a day full of learning.

1. Honey Banana Peanut Butter Wraps
Need breakfast on the go? This wrap is so easy, you can be out the door in five minutes! All you need is Sue Bee® honey, peanut butter and flatbread for a filling breakfast you can carry and eat in your hand.

Ingredients
1/2 tbsp Sue Bee® honey
1 flatbread
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 banana

Instructions
Spread peanut butter out on flatbread.
Slice banana and spread evenly over peanut butter.
Drizzle Sue Bee® honey on top.
Roll up and cut in half.

2. Honey Cocoa-Banana Overnight Oats 
A breakfast option that you can prepare the night before? Yes please! Our Honey Cocoa-Banana Overnight Oats are easy to make and delicious! Whip these up before you go to bed and they’re ready to eat at home or on-the-go in the morning.

Ingredients
2 tbsp Sue Bee® honey
2 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup yogurt
1 banana (mashed, chopped or sliced)
1–2 tbsp cocoa
Toppings of your choice

Instructions
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl or jar and place in the fridge, preferably overnight or for at least 1 hour.
When you are ready to eat, remove from the fridge and sprinkle toppings of your choice in the jar.
Oats can be eaten cold or heated in the microwave for 30–60 seconds. They will also keep in the fridge for 2–3 days.

3. Honey Banana Muffins 
Bake these Honey Banana Muffins the night before school for a grab-and-go breakfast in the morning! Heat them up in the microwave before you leave the house or eat them as is.

Ingredients
1/3 cup Sue Bee® honey
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2–1 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup mashed ripe banana
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, nutmeg and salt.
Combine eggs, banana, applesauce and honey in separate bowl.
Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
Coat muffin cups with nonstick cooking spray.
Fill two-thirds full with batter.
Bake at 375 F for 15–18 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool 5 minutes before moving from pans to wire rack.
