Honey Cardamom Cake with Orange Cream

Cake
  1. 1 cup + 2 tablespoons Sue BeeĀ® Honey
  2. 3 cups cake flour
  3. 1 tablespoon baking powder
  4. 2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  5. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  7. 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  8. 3 eggs
  9. 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons whole milk
Syrup
  1. 1/4 cup Sue Bee Honey
  2. 1/4 cup water
Cream
  1. 1/4 cup Sue Bee Honey
  2. 2 cups whipping cream
  3. 1 tablespoon orange juice concentrate
  4. Confectionary sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 F.
  2. Spray 13 x 9 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, cardamom, baking soda and 1/2 tsp. salt.
  4. In a large bowl, beat 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons Sue Bee Honey and butter at medium speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating 1 minute after each addition.
  6. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  7. Spread evenly in pan.
  8. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes.
  10. Meanwhile, stir together syrup ingredients.
  11. With wooden skewer, poke holes in cake, poking through to the bottom of the pan.
  12. Brush cake with syrup.
  13. Cool completely.
  14. In medium bowl, beat cream at medium high speed until soft peaks form.
  15. Add 1/4 cup Sue Bee Honey and orange concentrate beating just until blended.
  16. Serve cake with cream.
  17. Store in refrigerator.
