Ingredients
  1. 1/3 cup Sue BeeĀ® Honey
  2. 1 cup poppy seed
  3. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  5. 2 1/2 cups flour
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  7. 1 cup sour cream
  8. 4 eggs
  9. 1 1/2 cups sugar
  10. 1 cup butter
  11. 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. In small sauce pan, cook poppy seed with Sue Bee Honey and 1/4 cup water for 5-7 minutes; let cool.
  2. Cream butter/margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add cooled poppy seed mixture to creamed mixture and egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Blend in sour cream and vanilla.
  5. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  6. Gradually add poppy seed mixture to dry mixture, beating well.
  7. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
  8. Pour batter into a lightly greased and floured 9-inch tube (or bundt) pan.
  9. Bake at 350 F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  10. Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
  11. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.
